Integer and Double Fields with Validation Strings on Notes

Main Menu > Admin Tools > Form Builder

Administrative users can now add Integer and Double fields to Notes and configure custom validation strings for them, matching the existing behavior on Forms. This ensures users provide data in the exact numeric format required.

BMI Category Standards

Height, weight, and BMI are now mapped against established CDC health standards, allowing the system to automatically determine a client's BMI category accurately for both adults and children.

New Features & Enhancements

  • Widespread BMI Visibility: Calculated BMI, BMI Percentile, and BMI Category are now displayed when recording and viewing Vitals across Nurse Notes, Forms, the eMAR, and the Document Center.

  • Vitals History Updates: A new column titled "BMI Class" has been added to the Vitals History to display the BMI Category.

  • Standardized Abbreviations: The BMI Class column utilizes standardized abbreviations such as UW (Underweight), HW (Healthy Weight), OW (Overweight), OB (Obesity), and OB 1-3 (Classes of Obesity).

  • Updated Growth Charts: Growth charts have been updated to reflect the most up-to-date extended BMI data files provided by the CDC.

Configuration & Setup Changes

  • BMI Category Configuration: A new grid is available in System Setup (Supplemental) > Vitals Setup to manage BMI Category Configurations.

  • Display Preferences: "BMI Category" has been added as a selectable option in the Vitals Display Preferences grid.

  • Adolescent Age Cutoff: The age cutoff to differentiate between Adolescent and Adult BMI categories defaults to 20.

  • Obesity Class Toggles: New configuration options allow administrators to enable or disable the display of Adult Classes of Obesity and Severe Obesity for Adolescents.

Usability & Calculation Updates

  • Automated Calculations: The System Setup Variable for AutoCalcBMI has been removed.

  • Strict Formula Use: The system now always calculates BMI from a formula based on entered height and weight.

  • Read-Only Fields: To prevent manual errors, the BMI field has been made read-only in Vitals across Notes, Forms, and the eMAR.

  • UI Interaction Adjustments: Spin edit up/down arrows and mouse scroll wheel interactions have been removed when entering Vitals in the eMAR to prevent accidental data changes

Performance Improvements to Reminders and Case Assignments

Behind-the-scenes performance improvements have been made to the process that calculates reminders and case assignments, improving speed and reliability.

Productivity Dashboard Now Uses Activities for Out of Office Time

Main Menu > Reports > Administrative Reports > Productivity Dashboard

Out of Office time is now calculated using the Out of Office activity setting in Scheduler Activity Types, replacing the previous appointment header text method. This prevents misspelled headers from skewing your Productivity Dashboard calculations.

Issues Resolved:

Release 11.22

Locations Incorrectly Marked as Non-Person

Main Menu > Admin Tools > System Setup (Supplemental) > Location Configuration

There was an issue where a newly added location was always marked as a non-person location regardless of how the setting was configured. This issue has been resolved.

Orphaned Conditional Rules on Forms

Main Menu > Admin Tools > Form Builder

There was an issue where deleting a field from a form did not also delete its associated conditional rule, leaving orphaned logic in the form configuration. Conditional rules are now automatically removed when their associated field is deleted.

Server Error Adding "Create Orders" Permission

Main Menu > Admin Tools > Maintain Users

There was an issue where adding the "Create Orders" permission in Maintain Users could cause a server error. This issue has been resolved.
