Topaz Signature Pad

Models

Topaz Signature Pads can be used within NextStep for electronic signatures. While all models should work with NextStep, the Topaz model numbers tested directly with the software are T-LBK460-HSB-R, T-LBK-462-BSB-R, T-LBK460-HSX-R and T-S460-HSB-R.

Compatible Browsers

Compatible Browsers include  IE11+, Chrome, Edge, Opera, and Firefox. Topaz is not compatible with the Mac Operating System.

Installation

Additional information on how to install the signature pad can be found on the Topaz Systems website.  There you can find an installation guide at the bottom of the page, and additionally a button to download the SigWeb Installer

You should be installing the latest version of the Topaz drivers since they may include updates to the driver certificates, and if those certificates expire then the signature pads may stop working.

Testing your device

To test the device and ensure  it works properly in your browser after installation, you can use the SigWeb Javascript demo provided by Topaz. If it is working properly, you may get a prompt from your browser such as this one from Chrome upon visiting the page and clicking the Sign button:

NextStep will display a similar browser permission prompt when it needs to connect to your Topaz device.

Additionally, the webpage will display the SigWeb version installed on your browser

If this does not appear, then there is an issue with the extension on your device, and your browser will display a pop-up prompting whether it can communicate or not with the extension or drivers.
