Improved Functionality:
Bundled Services Maintenance and Setup > Activity Codes > Activity Code Bundle Setup
We have added an option to bundle units in the Activity Code Bundle Setup Form. When this box is checked for an Activity Code Bundle Setup, the number of units on the bundled service will be calculated based on the number of services included in the bundled service.
Resolved Issues:
1. Patient responsibility was not being calculated correctly or dropping at all when the allowed amount included the patient responsibility. Patient responsibility amount will now pass to the next payer or self pay, regardless of the difference in the allowed amount and the sum of the paid amount and patient responsibility amount.
2. As part of intended functionality in NSS Billing any line item with a claim frequency code of anything other than 1 included a REF segment in the claim file to include the original claim reference number. With the changes in requirements, some payer are requiring claim frequency codes to be other than 1 for initial claim submission. We have changed the functionality so that the REF segment is only included if there is also an original claim reference number on the line item.
